Description

CMB is an enterprise that responds to the needs of the times, investing in innovation and technology while at the same time reaffirming the values at its origins and continuing to believe in people and the new generations.

CMB’s story started at the beginning of the 1900s, when the two Muratori (Builders) and Braccianti (Labourers) cooperatives were set up to satisfy demands for work and dignity on the part of the members of the time. Thanks to its cooperative status, CMB has overcome the challenges faced over the years to become a sound business enterprise operating in the interest of the community rather than that of single individuals. It has faced changes with constantly renewed business strategies, gradually extending its range of activities and maintaining constant relations with public bodies and private clients.

Today CMB reaffirms those values and continues to believe in the new generations. On the threshold of one hundred and twenty years of history, it’s a model of a successful enterprise, developing and growing in a sustainable manner.

CMB has progressively integrated sustainability objectives into its industrial strategy, in line with its cooperative model and the role it aspires to play in the transition towards a more equitable, resilient and low-emission economy. Since the early 2000s, CMB has demonstrated strong financial and organisational commitment by adopting rules and management procedures focused on health and safety, environmental protection and the development of environmental expertise in the context of technical production control.

Over time, these commitments have been translated into concrete actions across key environmental, social and governance areas, with the aim of making sustainability an integral part of all operational, technical and organisational decisions involving products, services and stakeholder relationships.

Sustainability is now fully integrated into CMB’s industrial strategy and is aligned with the evolution of its most recent business plans. The main challenges identified include site decarbonisation, circular management of resources, human capital development and the strengthening of governance and control systems. In the near future, CMB will further strengthen the integration of sustainability into its business model through a more extensive mapping of impacts along the value chain, the active involvement of suppliers, and the development of a structured system for measuring and reporting ESG objectives.
