Bertorelli Giovanni

GIF Validation Team Member, Giovanni Bertorelli is graduated in Electric Engineering at Politecnico Milano, Postgraduate Diploma in “Industry Organization and Management” at Politecnico Milano.
He began his career as Workgroup Leader in the Research&Development Department of Pirelli Tyre, where carried out research activities in the design and new materials of tyres and participated to international projects.

From 1974 to 1998 at IBM Italy Production Division, covering various responsibilities (Electronic Laboratories Manager, Quality Staff Manager, Quality Assurance System Manager). Since 1991 he covered the function of Mfg Quality Strategy Director and developed innovative programs and methodologies for the application of the international Eccellence Models (EFQM, Malcolm Baldrige).

He has been Assessor in a EFQM European Award.

Since 2000 he is collaborating constantly with APQI (Associazione Premio Qualità Italia) as President of the Evalution Committee and Technical Responsible for Award processes management of various types of organitions (Industry, School, Public Administration). In twenty years he carried out thirty eight editions of Awards based on excellence european models: EFQM and Common Assessment Framework (CAF – UE).

Senior Excellence Assessor for the EFQM Levels of Excellence, APQI Team Leader for the Italy Quality Award, for the Quality Award of the Public Administration and for the “Innovation Award” and “Safety Award” of Confindustria.

He is the author or co-author of several publications in the field of management, quality, safety, energy, environmental management, improvement methods and techniques.
